THE NO PAIN, NO GAIN THEORY

I have been training for 30 years and in that time I have read any and every thing on
the subjects of physical fitness, bodybuilding, weight lifting, strong man training,
bodyweight training, kettle bell training.

I have taken so many supplements over the early part of my training and have always
been disappointed with the results not to mention the cost of the supplements which
will bankrupt you in short order.

My whole life has been dedicated to some type of training and everything learned is
from experience I never read anything that I didn’t try first before I decided if it will
work with my lifestyle.

Real physical fitness comes with a price! It will never come from a book, a course, a
DVD it only comes from what you decide to put into it. Read all you want, watch all the
DVD’s you want, listen to all the experts you want and unless you are willing to sweat,
put in the time over years and push through the pain you are just wasting your time.

I believe in the “NO PAIN, NO GAIN” theory. If you get caught up in today’s new way
fitness is being taught, you will hear you don’t have to suffer through the philosophy
of “NO PAIN, NO GAIN” and you will be just fine. I do believe that if you just want to
be average and just like everyone else in the gym, you can get by without the
“NO PAIN, NO GAIN” theory.

But, I don’t want you to be average, average sucks. If you don’t want to be the
best you can, why even bother training, you are fooling no one but yourself.

This is where being physically and mentally tough work together, you either do
the best you can, as often as you can, and always strive for the best you can be
or you give up and slip in to a place of self-destructive behavior. (Alcohol,
drugs)

Today’s all about doing the least and working as little as possible for the most
results, and attitude like that is why most of Americans are getting the results
they are getting.

Even the people that think they are fit they are no more fit then people that
lay on the couch all day.

I have seen men who do a little jogging and men that drink beer and
eat pizza most days in a short little game of rough tough football and
the jogger and pizza eater really have the same level of conditioning,
neither can run very far at a good speed and both are usually winded
after a few short sprints young and old.

This is the average, who really wants to be in this condition? So to be almost
super-human you need to be willing to put in the time, the sweat, the pain,
and sometimes the blood.

Years ago as a freshman in high school when I would dead lift I pull the bar
so hard up along my shins and knees that my shins and knees would bleed and
the l legs of my sweats would get holes, but I was also dead lifting 400lbs in 9th
grade weighing 145 lbs. I was willing to endure the pain to be stronger than
everyone else.

If you are training only for looks this is not a lifestyle for you, and you will never
work any harder than you have to.

To be the best you can be, you need to love the pain and sacrifice.

    Yeah, “no pain, no gain” was a popular slogan a while back but, I suspect, fear of law suits, led “experts” to back off from it. Repetitive stress syndrome from extreme aerobics and joint injuries from heavy weight training made people stop and think. Pain can do that. Circuit training with bodyweight, Wildman style, is less dangerous because the pain gets shifted around the entire body fairly evenly. So you can do it everyday.

I have very few friends anymore that I want to spend any significant time with because they are all “average Americans” – fat, weak, beer guzzling, etc. Don’t know what drives me, but I guess it is a lot of the same that drives you – just not wanting to be like everybody else.
