Everyone knows I love to do burpees I feel they are the most effective for conditioning
and great to work on athleticism. Joe De Sena creator of the “Spartan Race” is a big
believer in burpees and does 2,100 a week along with some rope climbing and
pullups.
Joe has a book out called “Spartan Up” which I think is a good read. In the book he talks
about doing 10,000 burpees in 1 week which is an amazing amount. I completed 10,000
burpees in a month because I have a job and couldn’t spend hours training, but still completed
a crazy amount.
In the video he is being interviewed by Strength Trainer Zach Even Esh from Under Ground
Strength. I don’t think Zach liked when Joe said he didn’t lift any weights. The one thing I noticed
is the way Joe did his burpees. He lays completely on the floor, then gets up. I don’t drop to the
floor but have experimented with the way De Sena does his and find it a little awkward
but I enjoy a different way of doing an exercise I love.
